FACTORY MAINTENANCE CONTROLLER – DURBAN REGION, KZN

Join this dynamic dedicated and hardworking team

  • Maintenance must ensure lubrication is working on the machine.
  • Must be able to work with auxiliary equipment like chillers and compressors.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of housekeeping always.
  • Be able to do plant maintenance.
  • Be able to accomplish tasks that require hydraulics, electrical, electronics and pneumatics.
  • Carry out all maintenance on injection moulding machines and ensure no oil leaks and water leaks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Electrical, hydraulics, electronics – NQF level 4

Preferably trade tested electrical fitter

Min 3-5 years factory maintenance experience

Must have injection moulding experience – this is essential to the post

PROCESS ENGINEER (METALLURGIST) MPUMALANGA

Description

An opportunity for a Metallurgist (BEng/BSc in Metallurgy), with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join a dynamic steel manufacturing plant with International exposure.

We are seeking an energetic candidate, willing to take responsibility and initiative to drive own improvement plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of process parameters to realise product characteristics, based on customer or specification requirements.
  • Development of process parameters for new product development.
  • You will be required to implement business systems to optimise product throughput (quality, yield, volume, cost), solving technical, systems and metallurgical problems by using your project management skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • (BEng/BSc in Metallurgy), with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Experience of manufacturing processes such annealing and pickling, hot & cold rolling and pyrometallurgy and stainless steel will be advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of QA systems requirements (ISO 9001) is required.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills (including the use of advanced statistics).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential.

FMCG MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – Wadeville

The purpose of this position is to develop and manage breakdown and preventative maintenance programmes to ensure maximum availability of equipment/machinery for use by production and in line with Company Safety Standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other related Legislation.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE ROLE

  • FMCG environment in Supervisory role (3-5 years essential)
  • N6, Trade tested
  • GCC preferable
  • OHSAct sound knowledge
  • Min 3 years preventative maintenance experience

 BREAKDOWN OF MACHINERY/EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Ensure breakdown presence on the floor to understand the root cause of the downtimes and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Implement a “sense of urgency” among artisans to reduce MTTR
  • Ensure all job cards are completed timeously.
  • Implements a structured process for measuring the performance effectiveness of assets
  • Initiates and drives continuous improvement of existing machinery/equipment by making new or different machine adjustments to improve equipment life cycle and thereby its reliability and capacity in increase MTBF
  • Implement and apply asset care management principles to ensure the longevity of machinery life span.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Ensure that all equipment and procedures comply to all Health and Safety rules and standards.
  • Ensure the right safety equipment is available and used in a safe and correct manner.
  • Accountable for all safety equipment issued.
  • Report all safety hazards, accidents and incidents to relevant parties.
  • Ensure that all Safety Guards, and Safety Devices are fitted and working for all equipment in area.
  • Ensure all electrical equipment, including portable electrical equipment, earth leakage units, fixed and portable ladders, welding and cutting equipment are on the Preventative Maintenance system
  • Ensure close out of risk assessment items

QUALITY

  • Ensure alignment of all work process (including contractors) to the required quality standards.
  • Proactively identify continual improvement strategies.
  • Action agreed quality initiatives ensuring that they are aligned to business unit/ tasks/ processes/ systems.
  • Implement corrective actions identified within specified time.
  • Manage the activities of the GMP Champ.

NEW MACHINERY/EQUIPMENT INSTALLATIONS AND COMMISSIONS

  • Ensure that all new equipment and procedures comply to all Health and Safety rules and standards.
  • Ensure the right safety equipment is available and used in a safe and correct manner.
  • Train all artisans on the new procedures
  • Ensure that all Safety Guards, and Safety Devices are fitted and working for all equipment in area.
  • Create stores stock items to manage spare parts

LEADERSHIP, DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT

  • Monitors and measures staff (maintenance team) performance in accordance with Company’s performance management process
  • Addresses any poor performance / misconduct through appropriate performance coaching, training, counselling or disciplinary action in accordance with Company procedures
  • Identifies areas for personal development and drafts personal development plan with Plant Engineer
  • Implement succession planning and leadership development initiatives.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES – These are job specific competencies that are required for producing quality results for this position. They are technical in nature where training is readily available e.g. finance, engineering, operations, sales etc.
