TECHNICAL SALES – HVAC

Responsible for the sale and promotion of all our (Direct Expansion/Unitary) Air Conditioning products

You will drive and deliver a revenue sales target, targeting new business and maximizing opportunities within our existing customer base – which mainly refers to technical contractors and installers for the domestic/residential and light commercial industry. You’ll build and maintain long-term customer relationships and use company defined sales processes & tools.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE ROLE:

  • A track record of Technical HVAC Sales in the South African market, with a strong preference for applicants with experience of selling DX units and solutions an advantage
  • Building Technologies & Solutions division, is a leading provider of building technology, products and solutions, including controls, equipment and services for HVAC, security, fire and refrigeration.
  • Technical Qualification is highly preferable
  • Valid SA driver’s license
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Proven track record of HVAC sales and are driven by delivering revenue targets.
  • Sales track record from a sales position for a technical market relevant to the air conditioning industry
  • Proven ability to develop & execute sales activities for both new and existing customers
  • Tireless, results driven, strong sales drive and a hunter mentality
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Professional proficiency of English language is essential

 

THE ROLE:

Seeks out, qualifies and closes new sales opportunities, with a specific focus on new business growth.

Creates competitive, high quality and timely estimates, bids, proposals, and cost/benefit analysis. Verifies new proposals and bids with manager prior to customer presentation. Negotiates value and impact to the customer’s business to close the sale.

Applies knowledge of competitor’s business strategies, products and services to favorably differentiate Company from them.

Negotiates terms & conditions and ensures that Company’s financial standards are fully adhered to.

Builds and manages long-term customer relationships/partnerships and responsible for customer satisfaction through executing the sales process.

Utilizes applicable sales tools effectively to plan and document progress as well as to increase business growth.

Keeps manager informed of changes in the marketplace and progress on customer status. Calls for assistance from manager to keep the sales process moving.

Participates in trade shows.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Service and maintain existing client base.

Sign and negotiate supply agreements with new customers

Marketing of full product range including welding equipment and industrial gases.

SHEQ conformance

Price and Margin Control within company guidelines.

Sales and competitor’s reporting.

Work closely with and assist production and logistics with customer requirements.

Compile weekly & monthly Sales reports.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Degree/Diploma (3years) in either the Science or Engineering field.

Engineering Technical Sales exp. or Product / Application Sales exp.

Understand Engineering Drawings and present to Consulting Engineers/Project Managers.

MS Office particularly Excel spread sheets / graphs and Power point presentations and or Google Platform.

SA drivers license.
